New connection for Laptops

The Higher Education Unit Library Media Center AV installed new classroom equipment with separate connections for the portable computers of users. The following example is the setup we have at the Foreign Language Room (CAR-308).
Laptop Connection		LMC AV Desktop Computers
	All loose cables are ready to be plugged in to your laptops (some, through a PC to TV Converter). ·         VGA Video (blue plug) connects to your monitor output ·         USB (white or gray) plugs in to your USB port to power the converter. Note: This is not for video or data connection.		Cables that are permanently fixed with wire or tape should not be removed.  Please ask for assistance at the AV Satellite (PA-200) if you need help in connecting your equipment.
An Audio Cable (black miniplug) is also available for your laptop.  In CAR-308, the cable connects to the Projection TV.  The PC Speakers set is for the desktop computer. As courtesy to the next user, please return all the cables and equipment back to their initial positions and settings.   Please inform us if you suspect that there are missing cables or equipment in the room.  We can be reached at Tel. How to Get Articles/Media from Top Universities of the World | Google Advance Search

Google is more powerful than you think.  Here’s how to tweak it and make it fetch/retrieve the right kind of paper, scholarly article, documents, sound clips, visuals, pictures, videos and other materials.

To search the top universities of the world, add site:.edu after your keyword.

If you enter this without a keyword, you’ll get a list of the most accessed universities, colleges and other academic institutions.

To look at libraries, try library site:.edu

To search for a specific university, specify the web site of the university.

After Google has given you a list for your search, you can click on the side bar options to filter the output.  Select Images to only view thumbnails of photos and other graphics.  If you choose Maps, you will be brought to Google Maps.  Narrowing down your list to only show Videos will give you a thumbnail of clips available on the site or domain you specified

Now you’re ready, for example, to take a look at PowerPoint Presentations.  Harvard University has more than 8,000.  Just indicate your keyword at the beginning of the search box to find a presentation on a specific subject or topic.

If you would like learn more about this feature of Google, click Advanced search at the lower right corner of the box.
